Sam was born in Park Ridge on August 21, 1973. Stylist and television personality most famous for hosting the hit ABC series Extreme Makeover as well as TLC’s Something Borrowed, Something New. As a stylist, he has worked on a number of series, including Everyday Italian, Sweet Home Alabama and Food Network Star.
He attended Johnsburg High School and earned a Theatre degree from the University of Iowa. He later worked as a personal shopper at the Los Angeles specialty store Fred Sega.
